Life has been like whoa lately! From BBQs to birthdays to work, weekend after weekend the hubs and I have been on a crazy Connecticut tour! Or so it seems from all the things we’ve got going on. It’s all fun stuff so I can’t complain! But it has left little time for us to plan our own activities!
So this weekend I made a list of all the things I want to do before summer is over. We’re fortunate we live in a really fun city where there’s not a shortage of events around us so I decided to choose my top, practical favorites (planning a mini road trip now is out of the question!).
If you’re in the same boat as I am and need a little summer “me” time, keep reading for my top 3 things to do before summer is over!

Go to a rooftop bar/restaurant
Summer sunsets are one of my all-time favorite things and getting to watch them from a rooftop just adds to the moment. If you haven’t already, search the best rooftops in your area and make it a date night or a girls’ night out!
Attend an outdoor event
I just did a post on dressing for a polo match (which is so much fun – definitely go if you’re in CT) but there’s also summer concerts, music festivals, botanical gardens, wine tastings, food tours, and of course, sporting events! Once winter hits in Connecticut, there’s little going outside so take advantage and enjoy the sun while it’s still here.
Have a bonfire
Bonfires are so underrated in my book! They used to be like a rite of passage growing up and now they’re almost extinct! Pick a friend who has an awesome backyard, grill, and end your night around the bonfire. If a swankier option is more your speed, you can check out my tips for a summer soirée here.
What fun summer events do you guys still have coming up? I might just squeeze one of your suggestions onto my list!
