It goes without saying some mornings go smoother than others. I have mornings where I wake up, totally refreshed and ready to conquer the day. Then I have those not-so-fun early days where I hit the snooze button one too many times and end up rushing out the door.
Admittedly, the latter was happening way too often, so I started to look at my morning routine, like really look at it, to see where I could tweak it to help myself out. I didn’t want to use my on-the-go lifestyle as an excuse to always feel disorganized. It was time to start making smart choices without losing my sense of style or pride in how I presented myself to the world. I came up with these easy changes to jumpstart my mornings and, ladies, I truly feel like they’ve made a difference. If you’ve been feeling like you need a little extra pep in your step lately, keep reading for my tips to streamline your everyday morning routine.
Choose high-performance products that help, not hinder, your on-the-go lifestyle
We’re all so busy with work, family and friend obligations that we often look at ways to save time instead of looking for products that help streamline our goals.
For me, it’s finding products that keep me on top of my health goals. I like to use my Contigo™Couture stainless steel water bottle as a smart and stylish choice to take with me on my commute to work as well as to my workouts after. The flexible tether makes it comfortable to carry with me on the go, so it’s super easy to incorporate into my routine. I fill them up the night before so they’re ready to go in the morning. The Thermalock™ vacuum insulation keeps my water cold for 24 hours and, when I want to enjoy my coffee, it keeps it hot for 10 hours. If you want to add ice, the spout is removable, which also makes for easy cleaning, and the lid is attached, which means you’ll never lose any parts.
I feel good knowing I’m not neglecting my health by drinking water all day and also look good doing it because the colors and graphics on the bottles are super on trend – I’m a sucker for the marble design!
I’ve also got insider scoop for you! Starting October 1st through November 3rd, you can purchase your own Contigo™Couture stainless steel water bottle at Target’s promotional price of $17.99 (instead of $19.99)! I always have the best experience shopping at Target because the deals are amazing and without fail, I always leave with a cart full of goodies. You’ll find these right on the end cap at Target (near the water bottles) with plenty of colors and designs so you can find the one best suited for you!
Have a designated area for your keys
I used to be notorious for setting my keys down anywhere when I got home and never being able to find them when it was time to go. Now I have a specific place where I always place them so I can grab and go when I’m in a hurry. A great tip is purchasing a cute hook or placing them in a drawer.
Prepare overnight oats
Another thing I always skipped because of time was breakfast. By 10AM, I was starving and just grabbed whatever was at hand to calm my stomach. Now, I prepare overnight oats the night before so I have something tasty and nutritious to eat before I head out the door. I like to switch the fruit and toppings so I don’t get bored with the flavors.
Set your clothes out the night before
My husband does this really well, so I took this tip from him. He has a caddie where he sets out everything he needs for the next day so in the morning he’s not in a rush. I now do the same thing, and it saves me so much time in the morning. I’ll set out my bag, cash I might need, accessories, shoes, even a lipstick I might want to wear. It gives me such peace of mind knowing I’ve already thought of all the details.
Have a go-to work uniform
For the mornings when there’s just no way I could prepare the night before, I turn to tried-and-true wardrobe pieces I know look good and go well together. For fall, it’s the black jeans I’m wearing in this post. I know I can pair them with any color top and blazer and call it a day. For spring and summer, I normally have a dress I can cinch with a belt that I know looks great. I like to keep these pieces in neutral colors so they go with everything. It’s always great to have versatile staples you can throw on and go that you know you feel good in.
