About three years ago I was a makeup-buying-machine. I was completely immersed in the latest beauty trends and I had to have whatever everyone was talking about at the moment. Fast-forward to now and my beauty arsenal is still large-and-in-charge, but it’s tremendously curated to fit my needs and only products I absolutely love sit on my vanity. This means when I shop for makeup, I shop smarter and a lot less often.
One of the times I do shop for new makeup is during the Sephora sale (can you blame a girl for liking a discount?). In case you didn’t know, I love a good bargain and I rarely shop anything full-price. So when I get to shop makeup at a discount, I like to take advantage. Below I’ve rounded up the 7 things I purchase during the Sephora sale so that you might get a little inspiration or find some great new products too.
I have to shape my brows with an eyebrow pencil every day so I go through these a lot. My go-to has been this one for years but recently I’ve been really loving this one. I can fill my brows faster, the colors are natural, and the spoolie is great. I just ran out of the one I have but it lasted me about a year!
Sounds silly to spend more than $2 on cotton but I have to agree that this facial cotton makes a difference. It’s super soft on the skin and absorbs just the right amount of product. I like to stock up during a sale to justify the price.
I have favorite drugstore and high-end foundations but recently there’s something about my high-end foundations that really do it for me. They make the biggest difference when covering my discoloration and wear a lot better throughout the day.
A luxe lip product
I’m a sucker for luxe packaging, especially when it comes to lip products so if I’ve been coveting a particular shade from a high-end brand, this is the time I normally splurge and go for it.
I always always always buy a fragrance during the sale. It might be a re-stock of a favorite or a scent I’ve recently fallen in love with, but regardless, this is when I grow my collection. I’m very picky with scents though, so I won’t buy just to buy. If I haven’t found a new fragrance I love, I’ll normally buy my husband something since he isn’t into buying cologne for himself.
Blow dryers and curling wands are very pricey but I do think good, quality ones make all the difference. I have two hair tools I highly recommend – I don’t go a week without using either and I’ve noticed my color stays vibrant longer and they’ve helped my hair recover from previous damage.
The latest “gotta-have-it” item
I tend to give in a bit and purchase something that’s been in my cart for a while. It’ll either be something that’s pricey and never really could justify purchasing full-price or a fun/popular item everyone seems to be raving about.
By nature, I’m pretty nosy about what people buy in terms of beauty products so I’d love to know what you’re planning on getting during the sale? I think it’s so fun hearing about what people have in their carts!
Happy shopping ladies and until next post!
