Happy Monday my beauties! Today I’m shifting the focus on someone really special to me. His name is Scottie and he’s our Westie (you might have seen him in my Instastories)! We’re actually his second parents. My in-laws were his first, so he’s been in the fam for 10 years. My mother-in-law nursed him back to health from just a little pup and a couple of months ago he moved in with us.

I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant in becoming a dog owner. My husband couldn’t say yes fast enough while I took a little longer to come around.

Now, I can’t imagine my days without Scottie. He is the sweetest, funniest guy with the biggest personality. And loves to be in the know and get into mischief!

Experiencing his daily adventures is one of my favorite things so today I thought it’d be fun to share a day in the life of Scottie! With fall here, I’ve been on the hunt for products that will keep my home clean but also make life easier.

Scottie’s mornings often start when my husband gets up for work. He’ll prop him on our bed and Scottie will keep him company while he gets ready (because let’s be real, I’m snoozing – it’s 5 am!).

I get up when my husband leaves and make my first cup of coffee. Scottie knows that after I finish it’s time for his first walk, and really that’s when his adventures begin! Lately he’s been loving getting into the fall foliage and will literally throw himself into it! It’s the funniest thing, but also the messiest!

We go on about three walks a day and after about two weeks I started noticing our bedroom carpet not looking as clean as it used it. That’s when I was introduced to STAINMASTER®™ Carpet Pet Stain Remover. I picked it up in the cleaning aisle at Target and I’ve been loving it for battling mud and paw prints this fall. One of my favorite things is that it doesn’t just eliminate the stain and odor, it also protects against future stains and doesn’t leave a sticky residue which gives me more time with my pup.

It’s super simple to use!

  1. SPRAY: Spray product liberally and directly on affected areas.
  2. WAIT: Wait 3-5 minutes to allow the solution to penetrate the stain.
  3. BLOT: Dampen the spot with water and blot with a clean, colorfast paper towel or cloth. Repeat as necessary to remove the stain. For best results treat stain immediately.

After every walk, Scottie relaxes with some couch time. He loves jumping onto the couch on his own (though sometimes he needs assistance). He likes for me to join him so for this I’ve found lint rollers are essential! Scottie doesn’t shed much but when we both sit on the couch, he likes to lay on me and it’s inevitable for dog hair to get everywhere. Definitely buy yourself a pack and keep one in the car too.

Also if you’re looking for a good brand of dog food, I recommend this one. We took Scottie to the vet not too long ago and he said this one was great! Just try to stay away from the beef and heavier flavors for small dogs.
