What a crazy couple of days amiright? I wouldn’t feel right if I completely glossed over this tremendous moment in the history of the United States and just went on talking about my favorite lipsticks. We have a new President. And the outcome (stating the obvious here) has shown the divide in beliefs and opinions within our country.
I, for one, had to take some time to really process my emotions. Good and bad thoughts naturally flooded my mind. A closure to it all came to me after hearing all concluding speeches. Some of those words will forever resonate in my heart. With all that said, I thought the best way to move forward is to make a promise to myself:
I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK HARD, BE KIND AND ACCEPTING OF PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE. I WILL NOT GIVE ANYONE THE POWER TO BREAK DOWN MY BELIEFS AND I WILL ALWAYS HOLD TIGHT TO MY VALUES.
There is already too much hate in the world. At the end of the day we are all human and deserve respect and the freedom to express our opinions. But always remember someone’s daily challenges are completely different than yours. That is why one of the many things this election taught me was to be more involved. I can’t really speak out if I’m not doing anything to make a change.
My life will continue. Your life will too. What will define us is how we decide to do so. I will always love this beautiful country that has given me so many opportunities.
I want us to succeed.
