I’m reaching the 6-month mark of my pregnancy and dressing the bump has oddly gotten a little easier. I’ve started to embrace new styles I rarely used to wear (because they accentuate my mid-section in a flattering way) and I’ve found my go-to pieces I switch out depending on setting and mood (you can find one of my favorite light sweaters in this post). One of the looks I’ve definitely conquered is my simple and comfy pregnancy outfit for running errands. I’ve found that when you have an outfit formula as I do with the three key pieces that make up this look, getting dressed in the mornings becomes less stressful.
What I’m Wearing

While a bodycon dress will hug all your curves, I’ve also found them to be the most flattering. They’ll accentuate the bump for sure, but they won’t exaggerate it. I’ve tried wearing flowy dresses but I’ve only felt larger. As the bump has grown, the tighter my wardrobe has gotten (without being too revealing, of course) because it frames my figure and helps me appear “all belly.” I have a black midi option I wear a ton too that camouflages the bump even more.
Cardigan (or light jacket/denim jacket)
This is obviously for warmth but I’ve also loved wearing a cardigan over a bodycon dress because it’s slightly slimming. My waist is obviously not the same size it was before I was pregnant so I found throwing on a cardigan gives the illusion that I’ve still got a waist. You can even go a step further and add a belt over the cardigan and above the belly to give yourself a nice silhouette.
I can still bend down without a ton of discomfort (yay!) but if I can avoid it, I will. That’s why I’m so obsessed with these slide-on sneakers. For one, they’re so comfy and easy to throw on but two, they come in a ton of stylish options. I’ve raved about this brand before but I’ve grown to love them even more during my pregnancy.
If you’re expecting, I’d love to know what makes up your go-to pregnancy outfit? And if you’re not, do you have any style slimming tips? I would love to hear all about them in the comments section below!
Thanks for stopping by today! Until my next one!
