Happy Friday and last day of March loves! Yesterday I actually put pen to paper and started jotting down all my plans, appointments and special dates for April and let’s just say it’s panning out to be a super busy month! I’m not complaining though. There are so many fun things finally happening that I can’t wait to share. We’ve also been actively searching for a new place either in Connecticut or New York. The search is both exciting and nerve-racking because the market out here moves fast. I fall in love with a place, set a day to visit and next thing I know it’s already rented. I can’t catch a break. I just remind myself how long it took us to find our current place and how much we love it so all will end up how it’s supposed to.
We should all be so lucky to grow old and gray, but if I can age gracefully I’m all for it. By now we all know sunscreen is a must, washing your face at night should be second nature and applying skincare products should go beyond the face (neck and hands ladies!), but it’s also good to be aware of certain daily habits that might be aging you.
See, the right skincare can only do so much. Like with exercise and diet, you won’t be successful without taking both into consideration. I’ve had a skincare routine since before I turned 20 (mostly for acne reasons) so for me this stuff is so much fun and essential. Now that I’m getting older, how I treat my skin is more important than ever. So if you’re anything like me, keep reading for my list of sneaky aging habits.
A year ago you wouldn’t have caught me dead in shoes with a heel less than four inches. Seriously! As crazy as that sounds I literally wore wedges or heels everywhere I went. That’s because I’m pretty short. I’m 5’1″ (on a good day) and clothes just don’t look as good with flats on.. or so I thought. But last year I found these sneakers and they changed my life! Dramatic, I know, but so true!
These slide-ons are the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned. The fabric is so soft and the design is simple but they still have an edgy vibe. I wear them pretty much every day because they’re the easiest sneakers to slip on and head out the door without thinking twice. Not to mention I get compliments every time I wear them. I love them so much that I just bought the taupe pair for spring (for reference I’m a size 6 and normally wear a size 6.5 so they run a bit big). The best part is you can dress them up (like I did here) or down, which is my fave way to wear them. They’re my go-to for travel (so easy to slip off for security checkpoints) and work so well with leggings!
Two weeks ago I started a new bi-weekly series on the blog called Friday Favorites where I want to share things and products that are making a big difference in my daily life. I don’t always find a place for them to share so I figured I’d create one 🙂 If you missed it definitely check it out here because I’m still obsessing over all those products – especially this tea.
I had a bit of a wellness theme going for the first post and today I’m seeing lots of pink, which I’m totally okay with. A couple of the products are skincare related and others have been helping me look my best self so keep reading for my recent faves.
Spring does something to me. It’s like all I want to do is embrace color and bathe in the welcomed sunshine. My husband always jokes that, “little Bub (aka me) doesn’t like the cold,” and laughs at how quickly I bundle up if just the slightest breeze comes my way. So to say I’m happy warmer days are here is an understatement.
That’s why today is a pretty special day. I’ve partnered with EcoTools at Ulta to bring you a fresh-faced, pop-of-color spring makeup look that is sure to kiss my – and your – winter blues buh-bye! The focus is all about creating a dewy, flawless face and embracing color for spring.

It’s always so exciting preparing for a summer vacation. Work days go a little smoother and planning cute outfits becomes the real mission. Be honest you know it’s true!.. Well at least for me 😉 I try to make a list of the activities we’ll be doing then plan outfits accordingly. Not only is it super practical to write out your plans, it also helps with overpacking and saves time each morning because you won’t have to spend time putting together vacation outfit ideas.
We’re smack dab in the middle of transitional weather and dressing for spring when it’s still cold outside is seriously one of the hardest things to do. It’s warm. It’s cold. You never really know what you’re going to get so today I thought I’d help you narrow down your clothing options without forgoing spring-vibes.
If you live in the Northeast you’re probably snowed in like me. You can bet I’m currently sitting in my pajamas, enjoying a warm beverage and admiring the winter wonderland that’s now my front yard. Life is pretty cozy right now.
Growing up in Arizona I thought snow days were just something kids in movies got to do. Now as an adult (and not a fan of the cold) it’s funny I ended up in Connecticut where the winters can get pretty bitter and snow days are inevitable. Truth be told I’ve actually grown to like them because they force me to take it easy and just relax.
There’s no question heels elevate any look – pun intended. They transform what could be considered a relaxed, casual outfit into a polished, ready-for-a-night-out ensemble. I’ve always found the best way to wear heels casually is by finding that right pair of pumps you can walk in as if you had sneakers on. Tough I know, but nothing’s worse than seeing a girl struggle in heels – it takes the “casual” right out of the equation if you ask me.
Once you’ve mastered the walk, there’s definitely some tips you can keep in mind when trying to achieve that effortless feel. Keep reading for my three tips on how to wear heels casually.
I’m starting a little bi-weekly series on the blog called Friday Favorites. A lot of times I find myself wanting to tell you guys about something I’ve been loving but it’s kinda random or I don’t really want to devote an entire post on it so this is where I’ll be sharing it! It’ll be like taking a peek inside my “medicine cabinet” aka my life lol.
When I rounded up all my faves for today I noticed a little theme – a wellness theme. Which makes sense since I’ve been focusing on getting my mind and body right (I talk more about weight lose here and how to be successful here). For lent I gave up wine and spending excessive amounts of time on social media. And guess what? I’ve been LOVING it! It’s like I’m cleansing myself from toxins in more ways than one. I think I’ll def be writing a post on this soon but to get back to the point, my favorites for the last couple of weeks are a little bit of skincare and lots of goodies that have been helping me zen out when I need it.
