I used to love shopping for back to school clothes! It was my favorite thing to do and I always had my first week of outfits coordinated and ready to go (I should have seen that as a sign of my future love for fashion).
High school was definitely the start of my experimentation with style. At that time it was all about the v-neck tops with the white cami under and matchy-matchy looks. By college comfort was key, and most days I wore leggings and some type of sweatshirt or sorority shirt (if you’re Alpha Phi, AOE sister).
Today I did a mix of both back to school styles. I went virtual shopping and found pieces that can easily work for days when you feel like dressing up a bit, but also work when you’re sleep deprived and roll out of bed with no time at all.
Slide-On Sneakers: The obsession for slide-on sneakers is real people! They’re my go-to for casual days and I wish I would have discovered my love for them years ago. These are super inexpensive (like $10!) but I’ve raved about my favorites here if you feel like spending a little more.
Metallic Mini Notebook Set: A cute little set of notebooks to take notes + they’ll be super easy to store because they’re mini.
Distressed Skinny Jeans: How cute is this pair? I love that they’re not too distressed and the cut is perfect for any pair of shoes so you can transition them through all seasons.
Embroidered Backpack: Embroidery is huge right now so when I saw this backpack I couldn’t pass it up. The floral detail is beautiful and the neutral color makes it work with any outfit. You can also get it in black for a more edgy vibe.
Semi-Sheer Woven Top: You can dress this top up or wear it with leggings. It’s super versatile and will be great to wear well into fall.
Grid Pattern Scarf: It’s been a LONG time since I’ve sat in a classroom but if I remember correctly, it was always freezing! This scarf is super affordable ($9!) and it’ll keep you warm during math class + look adorable come fall and winter.
T-Shirt Bodysuit: This bodysuit will be your best friend when you’re running late and don’t know what to wear. It’s super easy to pair with a cute pair of jeans or a maxi skirt.
Long Sleeve Mini Dress: Another versatile and super cute piece! This dress will work now and look adorable with opaque leggings once the weather gets cooler. Pair it with a cute pair of booties and you’re good to go!
What’s your back to school style? Do you plan your outfits every day or opt for comfort? I’d love to know!
Enjoy your first day of classes!
