Happy Halloween my loves! I wanted to hop on real quick and share the best Halloween movies, in my opinion 😉 This year the hubs and I plan on passing out candy to cute trick-or-treaters. We used to live in a cul-de-sac that didn’t get much foot traffic so this year we’re hoping we actually get a good group. Our Westie Scottie is dressing up as Yoda and we’ll probably finally carve our pumpkins and watch one of the movies on this list.
One of my all-time favorites! It’s a little morbid now being able to understand what it’s really about but it’s undeniably a classic.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I always wonder if this is a Christmas or Halloween movie. Regardless, I love this movie for the music and how can you not love Jack Skellington?!
If you’re spending Halloween with girlfriends then I’d recommend watching Practical Magic. My favorite part is the ending!
E.T. is not one you’d think of as a Halloween movie but the scene where they dress him up as a ghost is the cutest. I’ve also been known to shed a tear (or two) at the ending so if you’re not into scary movies, this one is perfect for you.
This is like Mean Girls meets Heathers. Another perfect movie for a Halloween girls’ night in!
I have the biggest girl crush on Christina Ricci and it all started with this movie. It’s definitely a great kid movie but I still love it as an adult.
What do you consider the best Halloween movies? I know a lot of people love Hocus Pocus but I didn’t grow up watching it so it’s not really a go-to for me. If I had to pick one from the list, I’m all about Beetlejuice! I’d watch and re-watch it when I was a little girl (is that weird?) and dance to Jump in the Line (Shake Señora) and pretend I was Winona Ryder. Ya.. I was a strange kid. lol.. Oh and a bonus movie is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I recently watched it and while it’s a bit slow to get going, I thought it was pretty good and perfect for Halloween.
Let me know below your faves so I can check them out!
Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
