Fall is in full swing here in Connecticut and its got me feeling cozy inside. Having spent 20+ years of my life in Arizona, the change in seasons meant nothing more than buying a light sweater or two. Now it’s a whole other story and I love it! I overdose on pumpkin everything and can actually wear boots, booties, scarfs, and jackets! But then the dreaded winter comes and all the fun ends.. because it’s too cold to move and I’ve yet to figure out how to look cute with four layers of clothing on!
So while the beautiful fall is here I’m sharing some of my current favorite trends. This list goes beyond the typical burgundy matte lip colors and copper, smokey eye looks.. those trends are timeless!
From fashion to beauty, these are my top loves and must-haves during sweater weather!
I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve tried about 10 different brands of sheet masks!.. They’re my current skincare obsession! I have my faves but for the most part I just love the large dose of vitamins just 20 minutes with a sheet mask gives your skin. The results are pretty much instant and I feel my skin has definitely benefited from this new addition to my skincare routine. I use them once a week after days when my skin feels most fatigued because that’s when it needs the most hydration and TLC. (FYI, these won’t replace your every day serums. They’re simply special treatments.)
The 70s are knocking and they’ve brought back a friend.. FRINGE! I can’t say I’m that super edgy girl that can rock every clothing trend but this one I actually like. It can be fun and flirty but also a little bit rock n roll! I especially love the trend on skirts, even more so when paired with cute booties!
Whether in makeup, fashion or home décor, nudes and neutrals rule my world. It’s just what I like! So it’s no surprise taupe nails are a must-have fall trend for me. They’re sophisticated and classic, and go with anything you wear and work on all skin tones.
Essences aren’t new but right now they’re making a big splash in the skincare world (literally). Gone are the days when your skin is left feeling tight after using a toner to remove any leftover dirt and makeup. With essences you get a deep surge of hydration that leaves skin looking dewy, and they also prep your skin for serums. I’ve been trying a ton but my favorites are Clinique Even Better and Algenist Hydrating Essence.
This really isn’t a fall trend per say but more of a summer trend that’s being carried over into the new season. I love that! I admit I was a bit hesitate about lining my bottom lashline with nude liner but the result is a wide-eye awake look! With vampy lips and moody eye looks it’s nice and refreshing to be able to add a little bit of brightness whenever you feel you need it!
More hydration please!.. That’s my motto this fall/winter season. As an oily girl it’s hard to believe this is something I rave about constantly to friends and family but it’s true. There’s a huge misconception that if you have oily skin you should stay away from oils because they clog your pores, but that’s not the case. When you apply oils to your skin you trick it into believing it’s producing enough oil so it actually helps your skin look less shiny! Not to mention it adds necessary hydration and most oils are packed with antioxidants, omegas, and peptides.
Ah good ol’ strobing; It’s been everywhere lately. What’s strobing you ask? It’s pretty much highlighting without contouring. Whether you decide to ditch contouring altogether or not, I’m just glad everyone is holding tight to their highlighters and not letting go! I love the glow my fave highlighters give me so I’m saying YES to strobing and keeping that glow alive!
Let me know what fall trends you’re currently loving! And what’s the temp like where you live? I’d love to know!
