Happy Tuesday babes! I am so happy to finally be embracing the magic of the holiday season and saying good-bye to the madness of all the crazy shopping! While I’m a sucker for a good deal, I kinda felt overwhelmed for a bit!
Sunday my husband and I spent the day putting up our Christmas tree and decorating our living room. He is all about Christmas! We went back and forth on the color theme and settled on red and gold.. The gold came from me and the red from him. Marriage is compromise right?
Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie.. my mouth is watering just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner! I am so excited to get together with family this week and enjoy some down time. Sometimes life gets so hectic I forget to slow down and enjoy each moment.
We’ll be heading to my sister-in-law’s for the day and while I’m still not sure what I’ll be wearing, this comfy look would be perfect if you’re keeping it super casual. The turtle neck sweater is so cozy and forgiving if you decide to overindulge a bit (raises both hands). I could seriously eat mashed potatoes all day every day! YUM! And the OTK boots add a little something-something to what otherwise would be a simple outfit.

Well hello November! You sure crept up on me! I think it’s true what they say.. time goes by way faster as you get older because this year flew! I still talk about things that happened at the beginning of the year like they happened last month!
Raise of hands if you’ve been spotting the criss-cross trend everywhere lately? I sure have! From t-shirts to dresses, criss-cross has taken over. I’ve been loving it because it’s so easy (and inexpensive!) to incorporate into your wardrobe, and it takes a simple tank or dress to the next level.
This dress has been on repeat for me. I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion, which is the type of clothing I’ve been gravitating toward recently. I wore it out with friends to the city a few weeks back and paired it with a jacket and booties; instantly it looked more dressed up! When I was in Arizona I tied a flannel shirt around my waist and wore it with my new favorite slip-on sneakers for a casual feel. I think I wore that combo like 2 days in a row. The color is perfect for fall too!
Growing up in Arizona left me with a major fall deficit so it’s fitting I tend to overdose on everything fall-related now that I live in Connecticut. Plus my birthday, which was September 22, marks the official beginning of fall, so I like to think a love for fall runs in my DNA. Can you blame me?
It’s quite ironic that at the start of fall I’m back in Arizona missing all the cool weather! Oh life. But I’m not complaining. I’m happy I’m visiting family and friends.
I gotta be honest with ya’ll and tell you I’m not the biggest fashionista. I love going shopping (who doesn’t?), but my eyes perk up a little more at the sight of new makeup, skincare, even home decor!
Recently I watched a documentary on Netflix called “Advanced Style” that changed my perspective on fashion a bit. It follows seven women aged 62 to 95 in New York City who challenge the overall idea of aging through timeless yet sometimes eccentric fashion. I loved how free and unapologetic they were and it really made me look at getting older differently.
Well hello there beautiful! It’s been quite some time since I put out a post! What can I say for myself other than LIFE! In reality I have no excuse; I only have my poor time management skills to blame. And of course if you’ve been following me on Instagram (which you totally should be!) you already know I was recently on vacation visiting family and friends in Arizona. The trip was A++ and I’m back feeling refreshed and ready to kick butt!
Now that I’ve caught you up I come to you with one of my faaavorite trends for summer.. STRIPES! Why do I love thee so much? Because they’re basically a neutral by now and when done right can really make an outfit come together. They can be elegant, nautical, sophisticated, fun, patriotic.. the possibilities are truly endless. Yes I know some of us are still pretty hesitant about wearing stripes but let me tell you there’s nothing to be scared of! Follow the simple guidelines I have for you and you’ll be wearing stripes without a care in no time!
Weddings are some of my favorite events to attend. Everyone is in a celebratory mood, ready to dance, eat, drink and be merry. I love it! Especially if you’re attending simply as a guest and get to enjoy the festivities without any responsibilities.
I have a couple of weddings this year and since I’ve been on the hunt for wedding guest attire I thought I’d put together some tips for choosing what to wear to a wedding. It’s not that tricky if you think about it, but it’s always nice to have some guidelines to help steer you in the right direction.
