This week many of you might be packing your bags and loading up your car or heading to the airport to visit family and friends. For the hubs and I, our traveling is done for the year. We’re going to spend Thanksgiving with my sister-in-law – only an hour or so away – and we’re pretty happy to be staying put. Traveling takes a lot out of us! Visiting my family in Arizona is about a five and a half hour plane ride, not to mention the ride to the airport which is about a two-hour car ride if we’re lucky.
When we land my family is ready to get the vacation started and while I’m SO excited to see them, all I want to do is shower and get myself situated. Thank goodness athleisure was huge this year! It made it easier to find comfortable but stylish travel clothes that helped me look put together without feeling confined. These comfortable travel clothes have seriously been my airport uniform. I likely had a variation of it on every time I traveled this year but always kept the following five things the same.

Stylish and Comfortable Travel Clothes
A comfortable but easy-to-take-off sneaker is essential when going through security at the airport. I love these because they have a sleek look and a moderate platform. I just got a grey pair and I’m eyeing these that are faux fur lined for winter. I’ve raved about them before in this post if you’re interested.
Joggers are my new favorite comfy pants. They come in all fabrics and taper close to the ankle so you look a little more polished than if you were wearing sweats. These ones have a stripe down the side which adds a fun style to them. They’re super comfy and expandable at the waist so you can relax during long flights or car rides.
A big scarf can double as a blanket, even a pillow if necessary. I tied the ends of my favorite scarf together to make it an infinity scarf and while on flights I’ll just untie it and drape it over me if I get cold. It’s a great way to add a fashionable piece to your travel outfit that’s also functional. You can check out this post for more ways to wear a scarf during travels.
I look a hot mess when I get off a flight so huge sunglasses are a must. I also can get a bit careless with my sunnies so I like to travel with an inexpensive pair. These are just $12 and cover everything I need them to. They’re a cool geometric shape instead of the typical round and have a gold metal accent on the arms.
Whether you go light jacket, cozy sweater or heavy coat will all depend on where you’re traveling to and the climate. For this look, I went with a fabric moto jacket because it works for a lot of locations and looks a bit dressed up in case you’re heading somewhere straight from the airport.
