Happy Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! My husband’s birthday so happens to be the same as America’s (lucky dude) so we celebrated with a nice dinner out followed by a relaxing movie night in. Since it was his birthday he got to pick the movie and being the Star Wars lover that he is, we watched Return of the Jedi.
Today I’m back with a fun summer trend’s post. Before I started curating my wardrobe or even knew what style of clothing really suited me, my closet was full of trendy pieces. I would go to Forever 21 and pick up whatever I liked or was super in style and I’d be done. That was all fine and dandy but it left me with a closet full of pieces I only wore a couple of times.
Now I’m much more diligent with the trend pieces I decide to add to my wardrobe. In-the-now accessories aren’t the first thing I think about purchasing but they do add seasonal flair and personality to your wardrobe. I’ve found the key is to rarely spend a lot of money on them and really decide if they fit your personal style. Don’t just add to your cart because everyone else is wearing it 😉
The three accessories I’m showcasing in this post are modern yet feminine and didn’t cost a lot of money. They’ll add just the right amount of character to your wardrobe and elevate it for the summertime.

White shoes were a big spring trend and I love that they’re being carried over into summer! Instead of white booties, the trend has shifted to heels, espadrilles, cute wedges, even vans which are all obviously much more hot weather appropriate. The white adds a crisp, summer vibe and really adds an effortless feel to any outfit – dressy or casual.
Like I mentioned before, I’m not big on splurging on “trendy” items, so I picked these white heels for under $30! The heel isn’t too high to where they’re not walkable (they’re actually pretty comfortable) and I love the simple, minimalist style. I know they also come in black, gold and pink so I definitely want to pick another color up.
Do you love or do you hate? I have a love/hate relationship with this trend for the obvious drawback: everyone sees what’s in your purse! But if you use your makeup, planner, cute book or magazine as bonus accessories, a see-through purse can actually be a lot of fun.
For this look I made sure the book in my purse complemented my outfit, and my makeup remained in the same color family. The whole bag really came to life and I love how versatile it is just by what I decide to add. How cute will it be to add a Vogue magazine for a chic girls’ night out outfit? The best part is the price! I spent less that $20 and I can style it in so many ways.
Out of all the summer trends, this one is my absolute favorite. It adds the most romantic touch to any look and I love how easy it is to incorporate for a touch of flair.
What you pair your hair scarf with will also determine the feel of your overall look: If you wear it with a flowy dress, you’ll get all the soft feminine vibes but if you wear it with high-waisted jeans and a simple top, you’ll get a retro feel.
It really just depends on your personal style and the color/pattern you go for. Because I love neutrals, I picked up this 3-pack for under $13 and I couldn’t be happier with the quality. They’re long enough to wrap as headbands or on the strap of our purse.
When it comes to trend pieces, finding accessories that fit your personal style without spending a lot of money can really add to your seasonal warsrobe. These three summer accessories complement one another so well but also stand alone to add personality and style to any dressy or casual look.
I’d love to know what summer accessories you’re incorporating into your wardrobe and which of the three I highlighted do you love the most?
