You know how they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Well, I think fashion is the same way. My take on what looks good might be completely different from the girl next to me at Starbucks but perhaps totally in sync with my bestie since first grade. Through the years we’ve all individually made up our minds about style and not much can change that. Except maybe trends.
Trends give the fashion-focused something to discuss and put their own spin on. Every season curated looks pop up and those who live for fashion incorporate them into their wardrobes with vigor and sass. If you’re like me, you mentally take notes on the “5 Trends to Try” posts and “Editor Picks for the New Season” articles online. From those, I assess which trends suit my style – or not – and I dress accordingly.
I often dismiss the ones I think won’t suit my body type or are on the polar end of my personal style. But this year I’m ecstatic about a particular trend making a comeback – the oversized blazer (or boyfriend jacket). It’s chic, timeless, and it’s a trend everyone looks good in.

I’m in the “you can sit with us” club so to have a trend be inclusive gives me all the feels. I personally love how effortless the look is and how easily you can incorporate it into your wardrobe. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a casual mood or going out for drinks with the girls, the oversized blazer just works.
This particular one was a steal at under $25! I bought it while I was on vacation in Arizona last month at a store I like to visit whenever I’m in my hometown because everything is super inexpensive. I did find similar options for you guys below in case you want to try the trend this fall. I also found similar styles but in different colors and textures. This one was my fave!
I added a pop of color with this gorgeous deep plum shade! The formula is so comfortable and easy to apply. It also doesn’t emphasize dryness which is a major plus during fall.
And let’s talk about the booties! Heart emojis all around! Can you believe they’re from Target and under $40?! I just saw they come in a taupe/gray option so I’m definitely thinking about picking them up. They’re comfortable to walk in and the block heel is super on trend right now.
(Total side note, did you guys know I’m a fashion and beauty columnist? Here’s my latest column where I talk about the block heel and heel trends for fall!)
Is there a fall trend you’re obsessing over right now? Fall is definitely the season to experiment with fashion so I’d love to hear about your favorites right now!
