We’re smack dab in the middle of transitional weather and dressing for spring when it’s still cold outside is seriously one of the hardest things to do. It’s warm. It’s cold. You never really know what you’re going to get so today I thought I’d help you narrow down your clothing options without forgoing spring-vibes.
This one’s tough for me because I’m a neutral-lover but winter blues are a real thing! It’s cold, it gets dark early and when you wake up for work the sun isn’t even out so it can get pretty depressing. Bright colors are a wonderful way to transition your wardrobe (whether with a coat like a did here or shoes like in this post) and can help brighten the bitter days.
Because the weather is so unpredictable, light layers will help keep you warm when it’s cold and stay cool if it warms up. You’ll be able to adapt to any change in temperatures and still feel comfortable throughout the day.
Look for Floral or Stripe Patterns
Flowers might not be blooming outside just yet but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear floral prints! I’m a huge fan of florals (when done right, like in this gorge dress) so when the weather isn’t cooperating it’s all about faking it till we make it. If floral prints aren’t your thing, stripes are great! They give a nautical feel and work in formal and casual looks.
Put aside your dark-colored jeans for a bit and pull out your lighter shades. I’ve been loving my gray jeans and definitely have a love affair with my favorite white pair. They really brighten any look and are so easy to incorporate in your wardrobe.
Wear Maxi Skirts or High-Waisted Jeans
This is a great option for those really wishing to give off spring-vibes but still want to keep warm. Maxi skirts work great because you can wear tights underneath and no one has to know! High-waisted jeans pair great with crop top sweaters keeping you on-trend and cozy.
Dressing for spring when it’s still cold outside might take some creativity on your part but I’m a firm believer of where there’s a will there’s a way! It’s all about incorporating the pieces you already own and mixing and matching to find the perfect warm spring outfits.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Weekend and enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day!!
