November Beauty Favorites

Happy Monday! I feel like I haven’t done a beauty favorites in a while and that’s because I haven’t LOL. Honestly I just hadn’t been wowed by many makeup products lately. But I’ve found some products that have the potential to become holy grail status! That’s a pretty big deal, and when it’s a big deal you guys have to know about it!

These products have been so good to me I haven’t gone more than a day without wearing one of them. Hopefully you find some new loves and try products you might not have otherwise.

LAURA MERCIER CANDLEGLOW SHEER PERFECTING POWDER

I’d been on the hunt for the perfect setting powder for months now and I’m so happy Laura launched this product because it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that gave my skin a soft radiant finish, didn’t accentuate my oily T-zone and didn’t settle into any fine lines. BINGO!

I’ve used MAC’s Studio Fix+ powder since I was in High School and while it’s still my first love, I needed something that wasn’t so heavy. I was noticing I couldn’t retouch with it anymore and it was settling into my smile lines (oh the wonders of aging). This powder has been a saving grace and while the coverage is nowhere near what Studio Fix+ gives me, I still love the soft focus finish and the way it wears throughout the day. I like buffing it in with a fluffy powder blush for best results.

J.ONE JELLY PACK

The primer God’s have spoken and they’ve bestowed a new HG primer upon me! Okay that was dramatic but I kinda felt that way the first time I tried this product. To be fair, this is more of an anti-aging treatment that happens to also be a primer. I’ve been loving it for all it’s purposes but especially for the way it makes my makeup last.

When I wear this product my makeup looks exactly the same from a.m. to p.m., which is pretty rare for me. I have skin that “eats” makeup, as I like to put it, so I was shocked when I didn’t have to touch up throughout the day. My makeup didn’t even settle in my smile lines!

Because it’s pricey I don’t use it all the time but I love that I have a primer I can count on for special occasions. My advice is to use a very little amount and press into the skin until it’s no longer tacky. At first it can feel a little wet but it dries quickly and the results are worth it.

MARC JACOBS AIR BLUSH SOFT GLOW DUO in ‘FLESH & FANTASY’

I’ve found my holy grail blush and of course it’s the most expensive blush I’ve ever owned! Ha! But in all seriousness, I could wear this blush every single day and not get bored. That’s because the intensity and finish are so customizable since it’s created with a duo stripped pattern. The lighter stripe is your “highlight” color and the other is your color payoff. Depending how you sweep your brush you’ll get a rosy glow or a more intense finish. It also drapes so effortlessly on the skin and looks natural and radiant.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS MODERN RENAISSANCE PALETTE

I did not want to buy into the hype for this palette because.. I don’t know. I just didn’t LOL. But during the VIB Rouge sale I gave in and purchased it only to be proved oh so wrong. It’s a stunner, and the quality is A+. While it’s a warm shadow lovers dream, the looks you can create with it are endless and the shadows blend like a dream.

Don’t be intimidated by the reds and bright pinks; they only enhance and work really well as transition shades for the plum, mauve and brick shadow options you have to choose from when you’re creating a smoky eye.

 HOURGLASS VANISH FOUNDATION BRUSH

I am completely in love with this brush because it leaves such an even surface after applying your foundation, and it’s dense enough to stipple on the product, which is how I like to apply since I prefer a full coverage finish. Even if you decide to use this brush in buffing motions, it leaves no streaks and doesn’t absorb your foundation. I love that it’s small enough to fit around my nose and under my eyes for concealer blending. I’ve been using it every day for a couple of months now and it still looks good as new! Yes it’s $46 (yikes!) but the quality and versatility make it so worth it.

Will you be trying any of the products I mentioned? Let me know what makeup and skincare you’ve been loving lately. I’m always on the hunt for new awesome products!

Besos,

Ilse
