This dress has summer picnic dress written all over it! For one it’s gingham so already we’re on the right track, and two it’s incredibly comfortable.
I’m a huge fan of a good summer picnic. My favorite was last year in Paris. After having a hard time choosing where to go for dinner, my husband and I decided to ixnay the fancy restaurant and instead, run around Paris finding bagettes, cheeses, meats, desserts and champagne so we could have a little picnic on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower. It definitely felt like a scavenger hunt (with a major language barrier) but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip!
We ended up with the most delicious spread and waited to watch the twinkle lights come on. I’m not even being dramatic when I say it was the most magical thing.

I really love this dress for its simplicity and comfort. It looks put together without much effort and the ruffle hem adds a soft, feminine touch and overall nice sway when you move. You can easily dress it up or down and being a wrap dress, it doesn’t open when you walk – which is one of the most important things in my book!
Another major plus? I felt really good in it. Recently I’ve been really tuning into how clothes make me feel and if I don’t get that “Oh yes!” feeling then I’m not buying it or wearing it. That whole “beauty is pain” thing is for the birds. I’ve been able to feel my most beautiful without sacrificing comfort but rather listening to my gut (and inner dialogue!) that almost always turn out to be right.
Picnics are such a classic summer passtime! If you’ve never had a picnic, definitely plan one for this summer! Have it at a quiet place with a great view and remember to bring mostly finger foods and all the utensils (and bottle openers!) to make the picnic run smoothly.
Have you ever had a summer picnic? What do you normally bring on your picnic and what’s your fondest memory if you have? I’d love to know!
Thanks for sharing a bit of your day with me! Until next time!
