Thank you to Scotties Tissues for collaborating on today’s post.
Dreary winter months have a way of getting to me. After the holidays have come and gone and I’ve settled into a new year routine, I’m so ready to say good-bye to cold weather. I get into a “winter funk” if you will and without fail, the weather completely affects my mood. I’m left searching for ways to improve it and I’ve found that surrounding myself with products and things that bring peace to my space always ease my winter blues.
If you’re like me, these tips and products will not only put you in the right state of mind but will help bring comfort into your home. They’re simple yet effective and can be applied right away.
Slow things down with some tea
I’m definitely a coffee person in the mornings but when I want to de-stress and slow things down, I love to brew some tea. There’s something about sipping on a hot beverage during the cold, winter months that gets my mind right. I love to do this on the weekends when I have some spare time or in the evening on a particularly difficult day. It’s super calming and resets my mind so I can begin to tackle any crazy days ahead.
Bring comfort (and style) into your home
Home is my safe haven. And I love to fill it with things that bring joy to my life. This doesn’t mean I’m splurging on extravagant décor but rather I find ways to integrate products I need during winter months in a beautiful way.
Like my Scotties’ soothing tissues.
Just like long winter months affect my mood, they also bring on cough and cold season which affect my health. Necessities like Scotties’ tissues fill my house but boxes everywhere don’t necessarily spark joy if you know what I mean. It might seem small but I love that I can add my Scotties’ tissues to every room in my home knowing they’ll blend seamlessly into my décor because of their new box designs. I’m partial to the marble but you can truly find any style you want at a price you can afford.
Take care of your skin
The skin on my face and body need extra TLC during winter months and adding just a few key products really does the trick and helps me feel better. I’ve found there’s definitely a correlation between the way I look and the way I feel so this is extremely important.
This year has been all about skin oils and hydrating mists to keep my skin dewy and fresh. I’ll top my normal nighttime skincare routine with an oil to seal all the moisture in and during the day I’ll use facial mists to refresh my skin. I know this might sound like an insignificant addition but trust me, it makes all the difference in the way you feel!
De-stress with “me” time
We all have that one thing that helps us regroup and helps us feel like ourselves so carve some time to do it. It can be as simple as picking up a magazine or sitting down to read a book. Taking care of yourself will always be rewarding. Remember that!
I would love to know what products you incorporate into your home to bring comfort and whether or not weather affects your mood? What do you do to get yourself out of a “winter funk”?
Until my next post!
