4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Not only is it such a celebratory and reflective day, it’s also my husband’s birthday! I try to make it very special for him but let’s be honest, the man gets fireworks and the day off every year so it’s already pretty darn special – yet still, I continue to set the bar pretty high for myself!
This year I was hoping to plan a little weekend birthday trip for him but as life would have it, wayy too much is going on right now for us to get away. I’m still not letting go of the possibility of making it happen in the coming months though!
Regardless, I’ll be wearing some red, white and blue on the 4th. If you’re like me, wearing any other colors to celebrate feels funny. Certain colors just go with their respective holidays (like red and green for Christmas). But, correct me if I’m wrong, they can start feeling a little cheesy after a while. Cheesy is how I’d like to describe my pizza, not my outfit.
This outfit is a great option for anyone wanting to keep things on theme without being over-the-top festive. The look is classic and comfy with a dash of trendy flair and chic vibe.

When choosing your 4th of July look you really want to think about how you want to feel and what you’re going to be doing. Heels might not be the most practical if you’ll be BBQing or lounging with friends.
I chose to pair this red ruffle-trim, midi dress with my current favorite pair of sneakers for a relaxed, yet girly vibe. This dress creates the prettiest silhouette and is very lightweight, making it work well for any hot, summer day. The shoes are on-trend and the silver is a great spin on the classic sneaker. I also love a good denim jacket for a potentially cool, summer life. This one is one of the best over-sized jackets ever and the price is so right.
In real life news, this weekend I was in Nashville with 12 other blogger babe powerhouses to hone in on better serving our audience. The focus group was lead by the amazing Julie Solomon – who I adore! – and respect so much for her transparency and willingness to help. I basically devour every bit of knowledge she shares over on her podcast and I encourage you to check it out if you’re an entrepreneur, blogger, businesswoman, literally anyone looking to take their side hustle to the next level needs to be listening right now.
The experience was so eye-opening and I’m incredibly excited to start implementing everything I learned so I could better serve you and why you visit my site. I always strive to share content you’ll love and feel inspired by so don’t ever shy away from sending requests or letting me know exactly what you want to see!
Are you digging this red, white, and blue 4th of July outfit? I’ve been enjoying a more relaxed style for summer and I feel this outfit still pulls classic and feminine-chic elements I Iove and always gravitate toward.
Thanks for spending a little of your day with me! Make sure to come back later this week for new posts.
