Hello 2017! So happy to meet you! I’ve been waiting.. not so patiently lol. If I’m being completely honest I couldn’t wait for 2016 to be over. Let’s just say it was not my year! It wasn’t a bad year by any means but I had grander plans for it. I was reading the goals I set for myself in my last post of 2015 and I basically achieved about half lol. But I’m not upset. For the first time in awhile I learned more about myself through my failures than my successes. It was a hard lesson but I’m thankful for it. And even though it’s corny I’ve always loved the new year for its ability to make me feel motivated and excited about the future.

This fresh start doesn’t mean “new year, new me” though. I like to think of it more as “new year, same but improved me.” I’m growing with the punches rather than changing myself for whoever or whatever it may be. This of course means I have some resolutions! Cliché but oh so necessary in my book. I like to have tangible evidence that I made a plan and can hold myself accountable if I don’t follow through.

Change of Scenery

This is a little broad but it applies to more things than one. My hubby and I have been looking for a new place for months now and I’m ready to end the hunt and move! We love our home but it’s the city that doesn’t do it for us anymore. We originally moved here for his job and last year he found a new job in the city so now we have a reason to change it up. If you live in Connecticut leave any city recommendations below! We want something closer to the city that’s lively and has lots going on!

Be Involved

For years I’ve said I want to get involved in my community more and do something that makes a difference. Near and dear to my heart are organizations that help stop violence against women and help empower women. If you know of any great groups please email me or leave a comment below.

Find my Voice

In a sea full of beauty and lifestyle blogs, finding your own voice can be hard. I have my favorite blogs but for the most part I try to only read a few so that it doesn’t cloud my ideas. Last year I said I wanted to be a little more personal on here and I think I definitely did that but I’m still working on finding the perfect balance and discovering what you guys really want to read about. I’d love to know what topics interest you the most and what you’d love to read more of!

Time Management

Oh God will I ever master this? I don’t know but I’m really going to try this year. I am forever late and procrastinate like no other which is a horrible trait when you’re trying to balance so many things! If I figure out the key to time management I will let you know!

 Get Toned

As I get older I’m noticing things aren’t looking like they used to! LOL! I’ve always had a small frame (I’m only 5’1″) but my weight fluctuates a lot because I’m not one to deprive myself of food. If I want to eat it I do! But this year I plan to eat in moderation a lot more and tone up! Lunges and weight training here I come!

What are your goals for 2017? Do you even like to set resolutions? Let me know below! I’m feeling good about this new year and excited to see what it brings!

Happy New Year!
