Now that I’ve shared our happy news, I can finally start sharing some clothing pieces that have helped me dress up my growing baby bump. Learning how to dress my changing body has proved a struggle at times because the bump isn’t always the same size – or at least it feels like it.
The thought of constantly buying new clothes isn’t appealing either. I’m almost 19 weeks and I’ve kept off buying anything maternity. Instead, I’ve been sizing up when necessary or I’ve gotten pretty creative with clothes I already have. It’s also been hot so dresses have been my go-to.
This dress, in particular, is a great fall staple and an example of a non-maternity piece that works with a changing body. It’s the perfect fall dress for a growing baby bump because of the side ruching and stretchy fabric. It also works as a great foundation piece to layer a jacket, scarf or vest over it that can be restyled countless ways.
If you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories you probably heard me talk about my husband poking fun at me for over-wearing a piece of clothing when I fall in love with it (recently it’s been the sweater in this post). In my defense, and like I mentioned above, I restyle my faves so the piece looks different. This dress is definitely one of those pieces! The cut is classic – not to mention flattering for all body types – and it’s a solid color, making it great for pairing with whatever pattern or style of jacket you wish.
Even if you’re not pregnant, this style is a must for the fall season. The side gathering is forgiving and adds a nice detail to the simple silhouette and you can’t beat the color.
Thank you for sharing some of your day with me. I’d love to know below if you have a fall wardrobe staple you must have in your closet? Share below!
