Before I start today’s post, I want to say thank you for the amazing response on my last post. I started this blog to connect with like-minded women who aren’t afraid to be themselves and sharing bits of me in such a personal level was not only terrifying, but freeing at the same time. To know it resonated with so many of you warmed my heart to the core and solidified that this community is pretty badass.
Now, shall we get into the fashion? Yes, let’s 😉
You’ve probably noticed I put a lot of emphasize on adding and investing on classic pieces to your wardrobe. My belief is simple: investing in basics and pieces you can interchange and wear season after season is the foundation of any timeless wardrobe. It not only saves you time, it also saves you money.
The kimono is such a unique wardrobe staple that many oversee when choosing classic pieces because of it’s underlying boho-vibe. Yes its tone is certainly boho but I also think It’s a piece that adds flavor and a level of chicness – all depending on the print and fabric you choose.
I love the kimono as the perfect transitional piece for in-between months because it’s lightweight enough to give you slight warmth during chilly nights but it isn’t too heavy to wear during the day. In the name of effortless fashion, it instantly transforms a simple cami and jeans look into a well-thought-out ensemble. Right away the look feels more put-together, and it’s easily one of the simpliest ways to elevate any casual look to the next level.
Another great way to wear a kimono is by cinching it with a belt. It will create a nice silhouette and not overpower your frame if you’re more on the petite side and hate the oversized look. I also love pairing my kimonos over bodycon dresses for an easy daytime outfit.
Share below if you love a good kimono and how you would style it? I always love getting inspiration from you guys too!
Happy Wednesday and until my next post!
