Deciding what to wear on Christmas Eve really depends on your family traditions. On my husband’s side of the family, we get together Christmas Day, and when my in-laws lived in New York, we often went to mass at midnight Christmas Eve. On my side of the family, we celebrate Christmas Eve and usually stay up until midnight to open gifts from family members and open gifts from Santa on Christmas Day. If they all lived in one state, this would actually work out quite nicely for my husband and me 🙂
The dress I’m wearing is ideal for any of these situations. I love that it’s formal, festive, and has just a touch of vintage feel with its flutter sleeves and twisted detail around the round neckline. The asymmetrical hemline brings it back to modern times and helps it feel a little more fun and flirty too. Pair it with a red lip and you’ve got a holiday winning combo! I, unfortunately, forget my current favorite red lippie when shooting this look but I ended up liking how my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick added an overall soft, feminine feel.
What I’m Wearing
This year, my husband and I will be celebrating Christmas in Connecticut. We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of our family members come into town and spending some of the holiday season with us. It’s always a crazy, loud, good time when everyone gets together.
I’m also looking forward to heading into the city this weekend! It’s a little tradition my husband and I started our first year as a married couple – which means we’ve now been doing it for six years! We always pick a weekend in December and spend the day doing all the holiday things in NYC. We literally eat, drink and be merry! I’m hoping baby will be up for a full day of walking and exploring without too much exhaustion. I’ll be doing a second-trimester recap soon but just for a mini update, week 25 and currently, 26 have been a little rough on me exhaustion-wise. It feels like baby is growing so much faster now and mama is having a hard time keeping up!
I would love to hear about your Christmas and holiday traditions? Do you normally celebrate Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Share below!
Thanks for stopping by!
