Greetings from Arizona! Normally I write in what I’ve dubbed my “glam room” at home but today my view includes palm trees and 8o degree weather; A very welcomed change from the relentless winter in Connecticut!
Since I’ve been traveling lately I thought I’d give you a peek at what makeup I decided to bring on my travels. This isn’t makeup just meant for my flight but rather for the entire duration of my trip. Do I even have to say choosing what makeup to bring was a toughie?? Because, you guessed it, it was; The hoarder in me just couldn’t handle picking favorites but I managed 😉

– High altitudes are serious moisture suckers so when I know I’m going to be on a flight for a long time I like to bring a body balm in my carry-on; They won’t explode everywhere when you open the jar and they’re thicker in consistency so they’ll truly quench your skin’s thirst.
– Another great product to bring with you is a hydrating mask. My current favorite is Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask; This one is great for long flights because you don’t need to wash it off and makeup can be applied over it. I like to wear it before I head to the airport then about an hour before I’ll be landing to ensure my skin won’t feel stiff and dry.
– You’ll most likely take a snooze during your flight so dressing comfortably is a must. Clothing items that double as a blanket and/or pillow can be all the difference in looking puffy versus well-rested when you land. My suggestion? Wear a poncho or shrug to double as a blanket once you feel yourself dozing off. My personal favorite is the lululemon vinyasa scarf; It’s not bulky but still keeps you warm and you can unsnap it to become a blanket!
– Speaking of looking puffy, my eyes do just that during long trips. My remedy, though probably strange to the people sitting next to me, are depuff pads. You’ll have to wear minimal, if any, eye makeup for these to actually work but you’ll get a quick refresher if you apply before landing.
Other Products to Consider Tossing in your Carry-On
Empty Water Bottle (so you can fill it up after passing security)
Makeup Wipes/Baby Wipes
