I hope you’ve all been having a relaxing holiday season. I’ve been in mom heaven watching our little girl experience so many firsts – first Christmas, meeting Santa, celebrations with family, first time seeing snow, opening presents.. the list goes on and on!
This time of year is certainly so special, but it can also become stressful and overwhelming at times so while I’ve been enjoying creating memories and making sure we’re giving Vivienne a wonderful holiday season, I’ve also been very intentional with having cozy days in and not worrying too much about things going exactly as planned. That includes shopping for “perfect” outfits for all our occasions. In fact, this season I’ve been shopping my own wardrobe and mixing and matching to create outfits that feel just like new – this one is one them. The pants you’ve seen in this post and the shirt on IG. I love the classic pairing of the two and think they’d make for a great all-black New Year’s Eve outfit you can easily find in your closet.
what I’m wearing
The trick to making an all-black New Year’s Eve outfit stand out is making sure there’s something special about it. While a black tee and dark jeans could work if the gathering is super casual, you really want a unique embellishment, fabric or silhouette that helps the all-black ensemble feel special occasion ready – after all, it IS New Year’s!
Take the top I’m wearing; It’s perfect for NYE. It’s sheer which means you can pair it with a fun bralette or go subtle with a nude tank underneath; I’ve worn it both ways and loved them equally. I went with a wide-leg pant to balance the look and bring in a little sophistication. Plus this pair has beautiful button-detailing along the pockets which helps break up the all-black outfit just a bit with some texture. The combination is flirty yet classic and topped with a bold lip, like a holiday red, really completes the entire look and adds just a hint of color.
I’d love to hear your NYE plans below and what you plan on wearing? My hubs and I have a tradition of buying fun appetizers and staying home in our comfy pj’s to ring in the New Year. I think we’ve done it the past three or four years now and always have the best time so that’s what we plan on doing this year again.
My next post will be in 2020 which means, HAPPY NEW YEAR! May you welcome it with an optimistic heart and see all the possibilities it holds for you.
