Well hello my friends. How are you feeling?
Blah? Content? Peaceful? Anxious? Worried?
All over the place?
You are so not alone.
It’s been a little over a month since my last blog post and to say things are completely different would be an understatement. Our lives have been turned upside down and we’re all doing our best to navigate this new normal. It’s surreal, and definitely challenging and scary at times, but I know that when I’m feeling my most low, I remind myself of the blessing it is to have a safe haven – a home. I keep repeating that quote, “You’re not stuck at home, you’re safe at home” and always seem to find some comfort in that. I have this immense gratitude for all our healthcare and essential workers who are literally putting their lives on the line so that we can one day see an end to all of this. As much as I miss roaming Target and Home Goods, taking my little girl to the park, or having family and friends over, I’m thankful I get to hold my daughter without fear – something I know not all parents can do right now and for their incredible sacrifice, I – we – are all indebted.
I wanted to check in with you all because blogging at this time has been hard to figure out. Most of the time, we share happy moments, fashion, how-to tips, and “Instagram-worthy” pictures – all the “fun” things about life. For the most part, I try to keep this space happy and aspirational. I’ve always turned to writing as an escape and this space has become a place I connect with so many likeminded people, my people. But times aren’t as routine and carefree as they once were so figuring out what to write about has been a challenge for me. I don’t want to seem insensitive to what we’re all facing right now, but I also don’t want to dwell in negative and sad thoughts. Like I said, this has always been an escape for me and a way to connect so moving forward I plan to do just that.
Without completely disregarding life as we currently know it, I want to start bringing you uplifting content that hopefully helps you escape for a little bit too. Some of us are trying to forge ahead and feel like we can still look forward to warmer weather and hopefully some summer gatherings, so I plan to still share 2020 style trends. We’re also home a lot more, so expect home content, cozy loungewear, and home decor posts. I plan to check in again with tips helping me get through this time and what we’re doing to keep things exciting and uplifting at home. Hopefully all things you want to read about and if you have anything in mind, I’m always open to your suggestions.
As always, if you don’t see a new post from me, you can catch snippets of our daily life over on my Instagram stories. All the raw, juicy stuff is there 😉 so make sure to follow along!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading today’s post. I find comfort in knowing we’re all in this together and doing our best to do our part.
Lots of love,
