I’ve done two other work style posts on the blog (here and here) and both received a ton of love from you ladies. It made me realize that work outfit inspiration is hard to come by and it’s something you guys really like, so today I put together a fall business casual look for my 9 to 5 ladies. Dressing for the office can be tricky – it challenges you to find professional pieces that still adhere to your personal style. And if you’re really good, your pieces also double as weekend wear.

I chose to tackle business casual because it’s almost an oxymoron. Business definitely alludes to ties, suits, and pencil skirts, but then casual is thrown in and all of a sudden the lines are blurred.
With today’s look, I kept the colors within a neutral palette but made sure they had a fun, stylish twist to them. To me, business casual leaves you a little room to add a fun, unique element to your look. For my top, I went with a long sleeve blouse with a neck bow. The neck bow is a subtle but very work-appropriate “accessory” that takes the look from typical to a little more exciting. If you want a little more color, it also comes in red and green – perfect for the holidays.
I also paired my top with high-waisted, paperbag palazzo pants. If you’re anything like me you LOVE high-waisted anything because it elongates your legs and adds a more polished feel to any outfit. They’re also wide-leg which screams chic in my book.
The pieces work beautifully together but they also can be worn separately outside of the office. With the holidays around the corner, the top is festive enough to be worn with a fun, midi skirt and the pants for a girls night out.
What are your thoughts on this look? Would you wear it to work?
