Nothing makes me happier than looking polished without spending tons of time and effort! Okay, I can think of a few things, but when you’ve overslept and only have limited time to get out the door, it’s nice having a makeup look you can count on.
I was truly tested yesterday when my alarm didn’t go off and I woke up thirty minutes before I had to leave to meet a friend for coffee! I literally jumped out of my bed in a frenzy, with no direction. Glad you guys weren’t there to witness it! Just my grandma who I’ve been rooming with since I’m staying with fam during my time in Arizona! LOL. (She couldn’t stop laughing.)
Today I’m sharing the fall version of my go-to makeup look. It has a lot to do with the lip color and very little to do with technique. The eye look involves only two colors and some falsies if you have the time.
Skincare is always a must! I’ve been using my Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum to help with my dehydrated skin and finish with my Murad Vitamin-C Moisturizer with SPF 30. I prep my under-eye area with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream.
I apply Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (a new go-to) with my Hourglass Vanish Foundation Brush (a must-have and totally worth the cost!) until it disappears into my skin. I then use Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation to spot conceal any areas that need more coverage. The tiniest bit goes a long way with this foundation (check out the REVIEW HERE). For concealer, I use Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in “Custard” and set with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder (though I really want to try RCMA’s No Color Powder).
I used my Sigma E40 brush to blend the shade “Taupe” from the Lorac Pro Palette back and forth in my crease. I then picked up the shade “Garnet” from the same palette and placed it on my lid with my L.A.B2 Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt Brush. I’ve spoken about these brushes before and still think they’re a great, affordable line! I’ve been loving the look of a cream liner in my inner, bottom lash line and my go-to has been Sephora’s Contour Inner Rim Gel Eyeliner. For $8 you can’t go wrong and it instantly makes me look awake.
If you don’t have time for falsies than a current go-to mascara has been Dior’s Iconic Overcurl Mascara (one of my favorite high-end mascaras) but if you do have time then pop on some Ardell Glamour Wispies like I did for this look. Finish your bottom lashes with a little Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara (a forever favorite for the bottom lashes).
Soft contour with Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer using Sephora’s Pro Precision Powder Brush (a must-have) and using the same brush apply Nar’s blush in “Goulue.” Apply Laura Geller’s “Gilded Honey” as a highlight.
I can’t get enough of Smashbox’s Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Stepping Out.” It’s a beautiful shade for fall that wears comfortably all day. The applicator is shaped to a point making application super easy so you don’t need a lip liner at all.
Seriously this look takes me no time to do in the mornings! It really is all about finding the right tones and fall shades that work for you to make it look like you spent a lot more time than you really did.
What products make up your go-to fall look? Let me know! I’m on the hunt for new fall lipsticks!
