New Year’s Eve, a time for celebrating with your loved ones, watching the ball drop and counting down excitedly to… the release of Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette?
That seems about right.
The collaboration between Youtuber Jaclyn Hill and Morphe Brushes was highly anticipated by makeup lovers everywhere. The launch was so anticipated that hackers actually flooded the website with traffic causing it to crash.
Nevertheless, eager buyers still managed to get their hands on this palette, causing it to sell-out in two days.
I didn’t purchase mine until the following morning and even then it took much patience to get to checkout. But I persevered because us makeup junkies are not quitters! 😉 So was it worth it? Let’s start with the details.

I apologize to my deep-skinned beauties for not having swatches available for you.
This palette is a very beautiful combination of neutral and wearable “pop-of-color” shades that are highly pigmented and smooth to the touch. This is my first introduction to Morphe eyeshadows and I’m highly impressed. I love finding alternatives to high-end products and these shadows are rivaling some of my long-time favorites.
What you’ll get is a great mix of mostly warm-toned and some cool-toned shadows with an array of finishes from shimmer, to satin, to matte, and metallic. If you only owned this eyeshadow palette you’d be pretty set when creating everyday looks to more dramatic ones; It’s that wonderfully curated.
My top three shadows in the palette are 20, 11 and 74. Blind-folded I’d never know the difference between these shadows and Make Up For Ever shadows which retail for $21; They’re that creamy and buttery. It’s a makeup lover’s dream.
If you didn’t get your hands on this palette the first time around I highly recommend sticking it out and ordering it once it goes back in stock in February. Even if you only love half the shades you’re better off ordering the complete palette since the shadows are half off.
The only two shades that didn’t feel as smooth as the rest were 66 and 59 but it made no difference in their pigmentation.
Swatches also seemed to stain a bit while trying to remove from arm.
I’m very happy I picked up this palette and I have no doubt in my mind you’ll fall in love with it too.
Did you purchase this palette? Let me know your thoughts and favorite shades! What looks would you like to see?
