I don’t know about you guys but when it comes to putting together my Thanksgiving outfit, it’s all about comfort! I can’t be bothered with non-stretchy fabric or super tight jeans. No thank you! A girl has to feel like she can have as many slices of pie as she wishes and not feel like a stuffed turkey!
A close second is looking cute. After all, there’s bound to be pictures taken. I want to feel cozy and chic in the most effortless way, which truth be told, is so easy to achieve with the right dress. Dresses are truly my secret weapon and especially now with a bump that feels like it’s growing so much every day, I need to know what I plan to wear will still fit, and help me feel good before and after a big meal.
What I’m Wearing
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect dress for your Thanksgiving outfit, I recommend focusing on fabric, cut, and color. The dress I’m wearing is knit and is made of 2% elastane which means it’s going to be warm and stretchy. Living in Connecticut I’ve learned to pay attention to fabric. My fast fashion dresses are nice but a well-made dress lasts forever.
As for the cut, I love a good hourglass shape because as the name suggests, it frames your silhouette nicely and helps create the illusion of an hourglass figure. Right now I could use all the help I can get so form-fitting with a slight flair at the bottom really helps shape me and give me better curves. Plus this dress sways when I walk which is a major bonus and something I always look for when purchasing a dress.
The last thing I look for when choosing an outfit for a special occasion is the color. Certain colors are associated with specific holidays and I find I enjoy going with theme. You might be the opposite, but it helps me feel more festive. The color scheme of this Thanksgiving outfit could not work better for the holiday! I also love that the shade works all fall and winter long so it’s not too holiday specific.
I would love to know what you’ll be wearing this Thanksgiving?! Are you going dressy or casual? I’ve got a more casual option you can check out in this post if that’s more your style.
Until my next one! Happy Friday loves!
