Riding off the high of NYFW I wanted to chat with you ladies about one of the most popular dress silhouettes I saw on the streets of New York. Dresses are some of my favorite articles of clothing because they’re ready-to-wear and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I tend to choose more effortless, feminine classic pieces over very trendy ones – at least when trying to build a solid wardrobe.
When I saw countless shift dresses with smocked cuffs and blouson sleeves on multiple ladies, I knew it was the “it” dress silhouette for the fall season, and something that would work for every body type. And even though it’s currently on-trend, I can see this style standing the test of time.
What I love most about this shift dress are the subtle details that take it from just a meh dress to a YES dress! There’s enough to catch the eye and help you add your own personal style to the mix. I went with classic, black accessories but if you want to spice it up, leopard booties would look great paired with emerald green.
This was my first year attending NYFW and I’ve got to say, the experience was so rewarding – exhausting – but definitely rewarding, and one of the best times I’ve had in NYC. I was honestly so inspired by what my peers were wearing and I made sure to pay close attention to how they put outfits together because seriously everyone was #goals.
I’m currently working on more fashion week content and if you have any suggestions or things you’re curious about, definitely leave me a comment below so I can better serve you.
Thanks for stopping by today and as always, see you in my next post!
