The holiday season is here, and while it’s a magical time, it can also be pretty stressful. Especially if you’re traveling! Add little babes and you’ve entered a whole ‘nother level of stress – who can even think about looking cute?.. Girl, I’ve got you! 😉 I remember feeling so anxious flying with Vivienne on my own when we moved to Arizona; I was so worried she’d cry the entire flight. Luckily, Vivienne was a champ (even with a 3-hour delay at the airport) and we made it through the 5-hour flight with no major meltdowns. Before Vivi, we did little travel during the holidays and this season is no different. We’re staying put and spending our first Christmas in Arizona with my side of the family. It’s also Vivienne’s first Christmas (outside of my belly) so enjoying time at home sounds especially appealing.
But if you don’t have the choice and travel is imminent (and travel stress is getting to you), I found the most perfect wrinkle-free holiday dress option you can throw in your suitcase. It’s a mix of style + comfort and I love that it takes the worry out of looking put together during the hectic holiday season.
what I’m wearing
This is the Matheson Tartan Dress and it feels as good as it looks. I love how effortless yet festive it is and that wherever you’re traveling to, you can pull it out of your suitcase without worrying about packing or finding an iron – win! I’m also so in love with the fact that even if I’m running around, doing my mom thing, I won’t feel restricted.
The cut and fabric also lends itself for any weather. You can easily add cute tights and a peacoat if you’re in colder weather or do like I did and pair it with some nude (or black) heels. Being 5’1 I tend to opt for nude heels to elongate my legs but black, even red, would look just as fab.
Finding ways to keep the joy during the holiday season instead of letting little things – like finding the perfect holiday dress – unnecessarily bring on stress doesn’t have to be a Christmas miracle. I’d love to know how you keep stress away and how you’d style this tartan shirtdress for your festivities?
